Applicants
The University of Kentucky defines international applicants as
those with citizenship other than the United States of America.
Permanent Residents of the United States may complete a domestic
application and include a photocopy of their Permanent Resident
card. Keep in mind that faxes and photocopies of official documents
such as the bank statement will not be accepted.

Transcripts
All secondary school and college/university level transcripts must
be submitted for review. Transcripts must be official and
English-translated. College/university transcripts from
institutions outside of the United States will be evaluated for
transfer credit by their office.
4.
Course Descriptions
Applicants are required to provide official, English-translated
course descriptions of all college-level courses completed. If
admitted, these will assist in awarding credit, academic advising,
and registration.
5.
Bank Statement
Official bank statement is required on bank letterhead. Please show
an available balance in U.S. dollars of $27,800 if applying for the
Fall 2008 Semester. Fees are subject to change.

English Proficiency
The University of Kentucky accepts official TOEFL and IELTS results
(school code is 1234.) Students must score at least 527 (paper and
pen), 197 (computer based), or 71 (iBT) on the Test of English as a
Foreign Language. Students must score at least 6 on IELTS. Students attending a US high school for one
academic year or more must provide ACT or
SAT results. Applicants who do not meet
the English proficiency standards may attend and complete the
University's Center for English as a Second Language to satisfy
this requirement.

The admission decision is based on factors such as the cumulative high school grade-point average, completion of the pre-college curriculum, ACT or SAT I score results, and special talents and abilities.
The Grade Point Average (GPA) for the average student in entering the University of Kentucky was 3.2 – 3.8, which is basically like a B average.
